OCD

OBSESSIVE – COMPULSIVE DISORDER

Obsessions are ideas, images or impulses that enter the individual’s mind again and again in a stereotyped manner in a way which is distressing to him and which he tries to resist without success.

Compulsions are rituals or stereotyped typed behavior which like obsessive ideas, are distressing and unwelcome to the individual and are therefore resisted with no success.

Obsessive thoughts and compulsive acts are the characteristic features of obsessive compulsive disorder
